FOLD Manufacturer’s Warranty

1. Warrantor

The warrantor is AVNSON GmbH, Hamburg, Germany. This warranty applies in addition to the purchaser’s statutory rights against the respective seller.

2. Warranty coverage – frame

AVNSON GmbH provides the original purchaser with a voluntary ten-year manufacturer’s warranty for the FOLD main frame and load-bearing permanently welded frame structures from the original date of purchase.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship affecting the main frame and load-bearing welded structures permanently connected to it when used as intended.

The folding joint, locking mechanisms, locking pins, clamping levers, steering column, cable steering system, steering components and other movable, bolted or replaceable parts are not covered by the ten-year frame warranty. These parts are subject to the applicable warranty terms for the respective component.

3. FOLD components and accessories

AVNSON GmbH provides a voluntary two-year manufacturer’s warranty for FOLD-specific components and FOLD accessories from the original date of purchase.

This may include the folding mechanism, locking elements, steering column, cable steering system, kickstand, platform, Basket Box, Basket Pro, Power Rack and other FOLD-specific components supplied by AVNSON GmbH.

The affected component must not be classified solely as a wear item and none of the exclusions in these warranty terms may apply.

4. Third-party components

Components and systems made by other manufacturers, including Bosch, Shimano, Gates, Supernova, Schwalbe and comparable suppliers, are subject to the warranty and service terms of the respective manufacturer.

AVNSON GmbH or an authorized FOLD dealer will assist you in identifying and processing an eligible service or warranty case.

5. What is not covered

This voluntary manufacturer’s warranty does not cover damage or functional impairment caused by, in particular:

• normal wear and ordinary ageing
• accidents, crashes, collisions or other external impacts
• improper use, incorrect operation or use outside the intended purpose
• exceeding permitted weight or load limits
• omitted, delayed or improper maintenance where this caused or contributed to the damage
• corrosion or damage caused by unsuitable care, storage or environmental exposure
• modifications, alterations or components not approved by AVNSON GmbH
• incorrect assembly or repair by insufficiently qualified persons
• commercial or exceptionally intensive use unless expressly approved by AVNSON GmbH

Typical wear items such as brake pads, brake rotors, tires, tubes, belts, sprockets, chains, bearings, grips and comparable wear components are excluded from this voluntary warranty unless a demonstrable defect in materials or workmanship exists.

6. Requirements for a warranty claim

The ten-year frame warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. To assess a warranty claim, we normally require:

• the original proof of purchase or another clear purchase record showing the purchase date and original purchaser
• the frame number or other unique identification of the bicycle
• a description of the defect
• clear photos or videos of the affected area
• maintenance or repair records if requested

The ten-year frame warranty requires intended use, compliance with the permitted weight and load limits, and no unapproved structural modifications. Maintenance or repair records may be requested where relevant to assessing the claimed damage. The warranty claim must be reported to AVNSON GmbH or an authorized FOLD dealer within a reasonable time after the defect is discovered.

7. Remedy under the warranty

If a defect covered by this manufacturer’s warranty is confirmed, AVNSON GmbH will, at its discretion, professionally repair or replace the affected component.

If an identical replacement component is no longer available, a technically equivalent or functionally comparable component may be used.

This voluntary manufacturer’s warranty does not provide a right to replacement of the complete bicycle, refund of the purchase price, compensation for loss of use, consequential loss or other indirect costs, to the extent permitted by law.

8. Transport, labour and incidental costs

Shipping, transport, removal and installation, diagnostics, workshop labour and other incidental costs are covered only where AVNSON GmbH has expressly approved them in advance or where coverage is required by law.

9. Warranty period and replacement

A repair or replacement performed under this warranty does not restart the original warranty period. The remaining warranty period of the original product continues to apply.

10. Statutory rights

This manufacturer’s warranty is voluntary and applies in addition to statutory warranty rights.

Statutory claims against the seller are neither restricted nor replaced by this warranty.

11. Making a warranty claim

If you would like to report a possible warranty case, please contact the FOLD dealer from whom you purchased your bicycle or contact AVNSON GmbH directly. Please have your proof of purchase, frame number and a brief description of the defect ready.
