MISSION
Make space. Save space.
As a passionate cyclist, FOLD founder Sahabi Arouna swears by the versatility of cargo bikes. There was only one thing that bothered him about his everyday life on a cargo bike in Hamburg’s cramped Schanzenviertel district: they are too big for public transport, too bulky to store in the apartment and too long to put in the car. For Sahabi, it was clear that if my cargo bike was to integrate seamlessly into everyday life, it had to be more compact.
That was the initial idea behind the development of the FOLD. It can be reduced to a compact format in two simple steps without compromising on functionality. On the contrary. The FOLD is one of the best performing cargo bikes ever. For traveling, commuting, as a cargo donkey, purist or with electric drive: every FOLD is extremely easy to ride, extremely resilient and built to last (more on this later).
For Sahabi, the FOLD is far more than just a cargo bike: it is an expression of his very personal philosophy of total unity. Without drifting into the philosophical: The FOLD is as uncompromising, sustainable and resilient as it is because it stands for a deep, inner conviction. To put it this way: the thing has not been rounded off by product designers and cheaply calculated by controllers, but is simply built the way Sahabi wanted his perfect cargo bike to be.
